Make A Wish... Come True!

Check out this inspiring MSN video - Harry Potter editors make dream come true

Here I am at Stephanie Trimberger's book launch party, held at Barnes & Noble, Pacific Place. Such a great event and a wonderful show of support from the community for her incredible achievement!

Book Theme!

As you know, writing for children is an incredibly important part of my life and I wanted to find a way to represent that passion in my wedding.  We decided to incoporate book flourishes here and there- including a library drawer with guest table numbers stamped on library pockets, and pages from Pride & Prejudice in frames with hand painted table numbers, see pics below...

Chapter 1 for Table 1 and so on. My apologies Jane Austen! Felt so bad ripping pages out for these table numbers...

And for these petal cones, thank you Shakespeare!

Special Thanks to our Wedding Guests!

Thank you so much to all of our wedding guests who brought books to donate to Page Ahead.  It was a beautiful collection and your generosity is greatly appreciated!

WonderFall

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking successive autumns."

The 2012 Washington State Book Awards have been announced, and the Scandiuzzi Children's Book Award went to "To Market, To Market" by Nikki McClure. McClure is an artist from Olympia who constructs stunning designs and images with colorful paper cuts. Her book highlights farmers markets, both the food and the people responsible for producing and selling it. So proud of our incredible local writing/art scene!

First Day of Kindergarten!

Nellie's first day of school! Can't even believe how fast the time has gone by.  I have been caring for Miss Nellie "Bean" since she was 5 months old, and now she's 5 years old and off to school!
